Since UNCED, DGIS and VROM have published various instruction manuals on the environment and development. VROM tries to stimulate public discussion on sustainable consumption and production patterns. It has developed specific awareness-raising activities regarding environmental hallmarks, sustainable construction technologies, climate and sustainable energy, waste separation and reduction and, in cooperation with LNV, on sustainable food and agriculture.

The Ministry of Environment keeps the international community informed about national developments through the publication of a quarterly on-line newsletter called Shared Spaces (free subscription). For more information please consult VROM's website at www.vrom.nl/international.
